He's from Lebanon, just been in Canada a short while. I've worked with him for a couple months but we could never either understand each other or have anything really in common to talk about. We'll today we were on the road and the topic of hobbies comes up. He told me the things he does and I mentioned what I do. Well holy hell, he's a bird hunter! He tried explaining what kind of birds he hunts back home but I couldn't figure it out. Then he dropped the bombshell, (no pun intended) a bird hunting permit in Lebanon costs $2000 US! We complain of prices here, can you imagine that?

So you are taking him bird hunting, right?

If you think you owning a gun pisses off Liberals, you should see them when they discover we can get immigrants buying guns and taking up hunting.

if hunting permits were $2000 for a life time. I would be all over it like a fat kid on a smarty..

I am told many Lebanese are quite fond of hunting and shooting. I know of none that hunt but a few shooters and every one of them is Liberal, even the president of the Liberal party of PEI, he was shocked to hear about the Martin Handgun ban. I can't believe someone can throw that much support behind a party and not know what they stand for.

I talked to a buddy of mine who lworked in Germany for a few years. Hunting over there is a rich man's sport. Hunting license costs $5000. Then you have to find somewhere to hunt. Every last scrap of land is privately owned so you have to either know someone or spend a fortune to hunt on pay-per-use land. This definitely is the best place on earth for hunters/fishermen to live and play!
