Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
This is not a hunting rifle,it is a statement.
Like a bright red Hummer in a wealthy suberb I guess.

Some have to have it.

Except that that is no Hummer. And the Hummer is ugly, that is hideous. That's a tourquoise 1995 Chevy Silverado with a rearing unicron painted on the side, on 20" chrome rims, with LED tailights, and hoochie dancers in the gold carpet lined box.

At his price, you're not far from this, a real rifle:

If its a statement, its in a language that i dont understand. Its just a jumble of bad carving. Then again this guy might think my guns are just too plain.

I've been laughing for 20 minutes reading all the comments on this thread!:D

That Weatherby has all the class of a 20 sou french whore....although it's probably cleaner.

Kinda like hanging dingle balls and fuzzy dice in your Porsche, to accent your leopard skin seat covers.....and don't forget the blue lights under the dash!

I don't think the rifle is "too ornate" if that's your thing but I do think that particular rifle is ugly and in poor taste. The cheek pad looks like melted wax and the carving makes the rest of the stock look fragile and out of proportion. I'm all for metal engraving and fine woods (not that I would pay for them lol) but to me a rifle is a tool not a sculpture and it's all about function first and fashion later. I'm not much of a fan of Weatherby rifles (based on looks as I've never shot one) to begin with...

gar·ish

Pronunciation: \ˈger-ish\
Function: adjective

1 : tastelessly showy
2 : excessively or disturbingly vivid
3 : offensively or distressingly bright

How very tastelessly, excessively, and offensively European in styling! The Barcelona Cathedral of rifles.

I've used a gunstock with carving instaed of checkering, and the grip was great, better than all but the very coarsest checkering.
That funky 'double cheekpiece' reminds me of the old-time "Schoutzen" (ja I know it's spelled wrong) rifles.

AWWWWKKKKK!! Gag, gasp, cp:!! What an ugly piece of work. I love beautiful wood on a rifle, but it is a great sacrilege to call that beautiful, when it has been soooo overdone. Spare me! Eagleye.

That is a classy rifle.

The Weatherby on the other hand is about the most hideous thing I have seen, the cheekpiece and grip cap are ridiculous which goes well with the rest of the stock.
