WRAS is holding its annual 2 day match this year on August 21 and 22.

This will be an A-Z match.
A- Lots of Ammo
B-Breaching Door :stirthepot2:
C- Cool Stuff (like a breaching door and 150 yd rifle shots) :eek:

T - TRANSITIONS (multiple guns per stage) (on some stages) :p

Z- ZOMBIES (just kidding but it would be cool):D

The plan is to have 15 stages over two days, 9 saturday and 6 sunday, with a mix of rifle, shotgun, pistol and transition stages. Round count is still to be determined.
The match will be based as much as possible on the USPSA style of 3-gun.
Shooting will begin at 10:00 on Saturday and at 11:00 on Sunday.

As usual if you make it it the range as early as 8:00 for final setup the help is much appreciated.

Camping is avalible at the range but there are no hook ups or water avaliable.
This year we WILL be doing transitions - pistol / rifle / shotgun. Make sure that if you are shooting an Open gun for the pistol stages that you bring a Production or Standard gun for the transition stages AND make sure your holster allows you to run with the gun holstered. A dropped loaded gun = disqualification.


As with the Steel Challenge, we will be having RANDOM draws for gift certificates, and TROPHIES for the top shooters too ! Bring a friend !

As those that came to the steel challenge found out the Prizes will be 5 x $200 gift certificates to a local firearms boutique.


***** And this is important - we'll be planning the stages on Sunday so that we can be finished the match a little early, so that we can hold our Annual General Meeting. Make sure that you plan to stay, voice your thoughts and elect your new Executive. These are the people that are working hard to plan YOUR matches for you in YOUR club.

Thanks for the kind words Sam, but we all know that I messed up quite abit on everything else and I can't hide that fact :)

I'll be bringing out some "special" items for the next one and I'll be sure to keep that 25 round shotshell bandolier wrapped around me :D

ps. Phoenix does NOT have the shotshell caddies in stock and do not anticipate having them for a long time.
 
I just wanted to come in and say that the match went great! Good work to Sam and Tex, and the rest of the match planners and WRAS Executive who helped organize the match. It was lots of fun!

Well the weather may not have totally co-operated but the WRAS two day match was awesome!! Had some transition stages for the first time in a long time, and they went over very well with everybody (more to come in the future), and I think Pigeon Dinner will be making a repeated showing!!!!!!:shotgun:w:h

A big thanks to all of those that came out and helped with the set-up on Friday night and then first thing Saturday morning and with the change over on Saturday night/ Sunday morning.

Too bad I couldn't make this. I wasn't about to leave my wife at home with a toddler and a couple day old baby.

How did the transitions work? Set the rifle or shotgun on a table and unholster pistol?

These guys donated enough stuff for everyone who participated to get a prize.

Another big Plug for INVESTOR's GROUP that helped make it possible to have the numerous $200 gift certificates for our competitors.

The transitions worked really well. We used the USPSA rules and had barrels set up where you could 'dump' your long guns.
