Hi all,

My MCR spits a ton of gas at my hand that is also causing wear on the handguard. I have a spare Faxon barrel with rifle length gas, but have heard the gas port may have to be opened up for reliable function. Ideally, I’m not looking to modify the barrel. Has anyone had any luck with a rifle length gas system and unmodified AR barrel on their WS or WK? I know the adjustable gas block with carbine length gas is also an option, but not my first choice and it appears TNA is still working on a new design.

Thanks for your time.

Matt

Faxon gunner with rifle length rod works just fine. No issues. My upgraded bushing broke though. 70 rnds. Not that this is the topic.....

The WK is way over-gassed to eat garbage ammo and function in extreme cold. If you feed it normal ammo, and don't try to fire it full of snow and ice at -40, the rifle length with normal gas tube should cycle fine, and save you some wear and tear on your firearm. You could still get a smith to drill the port out more if it doesn't cycle with your preferred ammo. Good luck!
