Good afternoon gentlemen, I was reading an article the other day about Winchester Super Target. Sounds like a great powder for the 45 ACP, I know that there have been lots of threads in regards to what powder to use, but I am getting more specific. I have been using TG, Unique, and Bullseye but like most of you I am searching for the perfect powder. I am wondering if anyone has used this stuff and how clean is it? Bullseye works good, but seems to be really dirty followed closely by tight group, Unique has worked its way to my favorite right now and is a good all round powder but what is WST like?

If you could let me know if you use it and why or why you don't like it, it would be appreciated.

I used WST in my 45 wadgun for a couple of years, then it seemed hard to find and expensive so I went back to WW231 and found that it metered better through my powder measures than WST did. YMMV.

Promo!

While SuperTarget is a damn fine powder, I prefer PROMO. SuperTarget has small balls and flakes and bits that sometimes are hard to meter and hard to measure accurately.
PROMO is a bulk powder that has the same formulation as RedDot. RedDot is a superlative powder for just about ALL handgun loads. PROMO comes only in 8 pound containers.
The standard Camp Perry classic 45acp load for accuracy is a 200 grain SWC with 4.0 grains of RedDot or 4.0 grains of PROMO.
Ask me about PROMO. I am the PROMO King!

Wst

Well I took the plunge and bought a pound, we will see how that goes. I won't be shooting for awhile since I did something to my ribs this weekend. Hurts to just move! Sucks, weather was so good also, of course I did it while my wife was at work on sat. I use a Dillon so hopefully it meters well. Would be nice to know what Winchester uses, it leaves the cases so clean, and works well.
