so thanks to Justin MFing Trudeau, we all gotta consider anti-gun grab type firearms (tongue in cheek). I really like the Tavor because it's short, but it's heavy, bulky, and Paulson has a hard on for it.

What I would like is a light, compact, short barrel carbine 556 that isn't a semi auto - like pump or bolt action - with a barrel length of 14.5" or less, with rails, takes AR mags and preferably with a folding stock.

Does such a rifle exist?

thanks!

For bolt action, a 16" Remington 700 in a LSS chassis stock is pretty close to what you are looking for. AR ergonomics. For a 14.5" barrel, you would have to go custom.
The Remington pump might be worth looking for.

I love my 7615P, very accurate and reliable... JP.

Hard to find, I tried a few budget brands and was not impressed and sold or am still trying to sell. My ideal rifle would be a 16" barrel 308 win rifle of some sort with set trigger, detatchable mag and scope rail. Would need to be a quality brand so the fit and finish is up to my standards.

I don't think it exists. Good luck with your search

Mossberg MVP LC (light Chassis) Bolt Action (but a little bit to sloppy of a bolt action IMO) 5.56 Nato with 16.25" barrel that uses AR-15 magazines. Is lightweight and meets your criteria except it will be very difficult to find much that comes factory with less then a 16" barrel.

I believe Bullseye London a CGN site advertiser has them for sale right now IIRC, I've thought of picking one up as it does check off quite a few boxes making for a good set-up except every time I handle a Mossberg MVP the bolt just cycles so sloppy compared to my Ruger GSS I can't talk myself into it, but if that doesn't bother you...

Cheers D
