WTK: Colt Gold Cup Nickel plated...

Hey!

Would anybody have seen a nickel plated Gold Cup for sale lately? A friend is thinking about selling one of his safe queen... The gun was bought in the early 90's, he has the box, the original grip + a set of ivory grip and extra magazines.

Any idea on what this thing could be worth?

$700-$1000 depending on condition. Is it original nickle? Is it series 80? Any aftermarket stuff on it?

OK, I finaly got the see the gun. It's a 80's serie, factory chromed. The gun as seen about 500rd. Somebody managed to put a scratch by the slide release

Someone put a scratch near the slide-stop?! Well I've never seen THAT before! (sarcasm)
I think a Colt lover would pay $1000 and up. I know if I didn't have such a long wish list I would pay that for it.
It's more of a work of art than a shooter though.

Are you sure that is chromed or nickeled. I think that it looks like the Colt Ultimate fishish they used to have, which was plain stainless with a really high polish (similar to Ruger bright stainless vaquero's). If I recall one payed premium prices for a Colt Ultimate, I think a Colt nut may pay $1500+ if it is indeed an ultimate.
