I've come across a beat up but serviceable 3 screw single six and was wanting to cut the barrel down to 106 or 107 mm. I've got a good selection of collector grade ones and now I've got a guinea pig. Any advice out there on the procedure? Are the threads right hand, or are they like the Colt style and left handed? Has anyone got some tips? I was going to fabricate a receiver wrench out of aluminum block and am about 1/2 way through the fabrication on a barrel vise. Will I lose about a thou off the "crush" when I reinstall the barrel? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Peter H.
