I have two WW Greener SXS shotguns. I have the info direct from WW Greener on the guns.
I’ll include that information and some photos in the comments. Anyone have an idea of realistic value?
From Greener:
W W Greener gun no. 69327 was started on 7th July 1936 and finished on 14th November 1936. It is a DH 33 model, a 12 bore with Anson and Deeley action and baker ejectors. It was engraved by Jones. Stock dimensions when made were 2 by 1-7/16 by 15-1/16, half pistol hand, 1/16 of an inch normal cast. It was sold through our London Establishment so the original owner is not recorded. This is a medium grade shotgun which cost 33 guineas when sold (£31.65 in today’s money).
WW Greener gun no 57027 was started on 11th November 1908 and finished on 2nd July 1909. It is a D13 model, a 12 bore with Anson and Deeley action, a non-ejector. It was engraved by Gilmore. Stock dimensions when made were 2-1/4 by 1-5/8 by 14-1/2 inches straight hand. It was sold through our London Establishment so the original owner is not recorded. This is an inexpensive grade shotgun which cost 13 guineas when made (£13.65 in today’s money).
Both the above shotguns were proved by the Birmingham Gun Barrel Proof House and bear the marks of that establishment in use at the time. 69327 has 2-1/2 inch chambers and it is likely that the chamber lengths of 57027 are the same. If so do not use cartridges longer than 2-1/2 inches (65mm). Both guns have the W W Greener registered trade mark ‘elephant’ and from the photos appear to be genuine. I attach some details of the A&D action and some notes on condition which I hope will be helpful.
