WW1 Swiss breeches?

Was hoping one of the Swiss God's could confirm whether these are WW1 Swiss pants? Swede? German?

Was going to wear them hunting (married = don't care what I look like anymore!) but thought maybe I should double check based on the 1916 date - maybe they are too rare?

In the 1990s there was a large amount of Swiss clothing sold off as surplus in shops here, certainly had the look/cut and colour of German wartime uniforms. I seem to recall the pockets on the tunics being a bit different between German Vs Swiss.

The red stamp is in French, so, not Swedish or German, and therefore most likely Swiss. The Swiss speak French, but neither the Germans nor the Swedes do.

Swiss because of the red cross, looks like a pair of cavalry breeches.

Red stamp is official release from army inventory to surplus/'private domain" I.E. not stolen.
I wonder if those pants are cavaly issue due to double layer possibly for saddle wear
