Unless they scoured the entire areas with metal detectors, there would be lots of ordinance, gear and guns left in the jungle from both sides.
When the CF left Sarcee they were charged with cleaning up the entire training area. The amount of stuff we found was quite amazing...and that is right outside Calgary...
