So I inherited some gear and I'm not entirely sure what to do with it, I am curious as to what it's worth.

I have a full size canvas gear bag.
Water bottle
Boots
Weight belts???

What are the above worth?

Here are some pics:

The weights with the dome fastener were slipped into your battledress trouser in order to "blouse" the
bottom of your trousers above your boots and puttees.

Pure parade square puffery...but everyone did it.

Canadian Army anyway.

If your BD trousers didn't blouse the right way you were in deep ka-ka with the Sergeant.

If the RSM happened to notice, it was more than possible that the SKY might fall on you.

Proper term for those things is "puttee weights". We had to make our own.

The boots are a health hazard and likely harbour some rather unsavoury and various foot fungi. The duffle bag is missing a grommet or two for the padlock loop. The holes where they go are very frayed. The canteen may be worth something.
The items as a whole aren't worth much at all and the boots need to be incinerated.

I'm sure someone else will chime in and prove me wrong.

the duffel bag isn't missing anything for the lock, it locks fine and works like a charm..... Boots will clean up fine and I doubt they pose any real hazard unless ingested, and I ain't that hungry :)

That frayed hole at the top of the bag is where the brass grommet should be. They allow for the bag opening to fold over in a four corner fashion securing the contents of the bag completely. There should be three of them and they should all go over the elongated brass loop and are fastened with that clip your holding in the picture. I only see one grommet in the pics. Actually I'm not sure I even see one.

The boots...well you're there and can get a better idea of the condition. All I can see from the pics is a mildew encrusted pair. Clean them up, take more pics, and then ask for an assessment. Better responses that way.
