My buddies dad passed away and left him this little Belgian 7.65 Pistol that was brought back after the war, and he asked me to help him figure out what it is....WOW!

Apparently these pistols are very uncommon to come across.

Does anyone have any experience with these in Canada?

It is in much better condition than the pics from my crappy cell phone show.
It is towards the end of the apparently 5000 produced
(almost all were taken and proofed for use by the German Army).
They apparently had either black bakelite, smooth composite, or smooth wood grips. This one has reddish composite grips and all the serial numbers match.

Can anyone shed some light on if it is as uncommon as I think?

They look very similar to a Browning 1900 and again, this one is in much nicer shape than the pics show. The finish is like a decent greyish park.
Cheers paul

I picked this info up....
Jan Still, in his book on pistols of WWII Germany and it's Allies; "Axis Pistols", list eighteen of these pistols reported to him, with thirteen bearing the WWII German test proof. Serial range reported: 122 to 4612.
