Hello ;

I'm looking for advice on the fair market price of a Luger P08 by Mauser,
1940 "42" model. I've only seen low res pictures, but it looks in good shape. It is missing the trigger plate.

Lugers are a lot of fun.

Give them decently-fitted magazines and good solid loads and they will chug just about forever.

Yup. you really need to provide more inromation. There are all kinds out there, including some stuff coming out of Russia that is beat to death and almost worn out. There are also brand-new 90-year-old works of Luger art still to be found..... bringbacks from the time of the Great War or Hitler's War, carefully looked after for 60 to 90 years........

Some photos would be good.

Also, check the condition of the bore.

SO much depends on condition.

Matching numbers? Barrel length? you need to provide more info...
Thanks for the reply.
As I said, I've only seen low res pictures so far, so I can't tell if all the numbers match. The current custodian is the second one since it came back over the pond, so I'm guessing that since it looks like it was well cared for and was acquired from an officer, it probably does have a good set of numbers except for the missing trigger plate. The barrel length is 4", which will probably limit it's market appeal in this country.
Any more information you can give me would be appreciated. Even a possible price range would be helpful.

Thanks again.

I'll see if the owner can provide me with some digital files and I will send them along.

Thanks for the reply.
