out of curiosity, trying to find out how much would a WW2 stamped bayonet go for? good to fair shape, dont see any posted in the exchange forum and dont see anyone inquiring here as well

i know, pictures, dont have them, just need a ball park figure

I don’t think they are particularly rare as such. As for price, look at the “Things Military” website. He has a few up for sale with varying prices.

^^^ Yep. And the bayonet would have to be in exceptional condition to fetch the higher end. At one time there were hundreds of thousands of them, if not millions.

Last k98 bayonet I bought was $120.... then it showed up and wasn't even a k98 bayonet. Not exactly sure what it is for as it latches in the typical Mauser way, but I do know that a k98 bayonet doesn't have a barrel ring on it...

There were different bayonets that would fit the K98 type rifles. They were made that way to be interchangeable with other mauser models.

The only real difference was the ''barrel ring''

Some Mausers that were similar to the K98, such as the short Yugo types had proprietary bayos, with a barrel ring. Whoever sold it to you may have thought his Yugo Mauser was a K98????

I have zero doubt this was a case of mistaken identity instead of anything else. That's why I've just hung onto the bayonet and continue my search for a deal on a proper k98 bayo. I also will be watching at gun shows for a rifle to match my current bayonet so that it doesn't "go to waste" :p

A man after my own heart. That was often the reason I maintained for keeping such things and it usually worked out well.

There are quite a few Yugo rifles available, but they're drying up as we meander.

what if your bayonet is a super rare variant worth hundreds more? without pics, I guess we will never know.
you may also check some of the WWII auction sites to see what they're listed at.
