WW2 US service revolvers?

Besides the WW1 .45 M1917 revolver did the US use any other service revolvers in any quantity during WW2?

For example did they use the S&W M&P or Victory like we did here in Canada? If so did they use either of these in .38 Special or just .38 S&W?

Im' not a expert on U.S. revolvers..there are lots of CGN's that are more knowledable than me....

But i believe that both the Colt and Smith&Wesson revolvers were issued...i read that the Marine Corps used some revolvers.
The .38 M&P was chambered for the 38 special..a much more potent cartridge than the 38/200 issued to British Comonwealth troops...alot of these .38 revolvers were issued to U.S navy pilots in the Pacific war..also i have seen photo's of U.S. navy and airforce pilots in both the Korean War and Vietnam packing the .38 revolvers.
 
Yep, the Victory was widely issued in the US, but generally in .38 SPL. They came in 2", 4" and 6" models while the Commonwealth version was in .38 S&W (.38/200) and generally was a 5" model.
 
The US armed forces issued a lot of different pistols actually. 32 and 380 calibre Brownings, S&W and Colt revolvers in at least 3 different chamberings, Colt 1911 and its clones and even a few single action models. bearhunter
 
The Defense Supplies Corporation channeled these revolvers to many organisations with the CONUS, chiefly for plant protection. The OSS got them too, among other types.
