Wwii 75mm m18 sherman tank shell casing

Hey Guys,

Does anyone have a leads on where a guy could procure himself a M18 Shell casing, Just working on a display as my Grandfather was a Tank Driver and this would really look cool under his shadow box.

I found a real M72 AP 75mm projectile after years of searching but cannot find any M18 casings anymore

Are you sure that bullet isn't 25pdr? The markings at the top of the second photo would seem to indicate 25pdr armour piercing.

I thought 25 pounder when I first saw it. Should be easy to figure out as 25 pounder bore diameter is 3.45 inch or 87.6mm

Yeah, that is not a 75mm M72 AP projectile.

Thanks for the info guys, Pretty bummed its a 25 pounder . But I did find a 25 pounder 1943 Shell on ebay. lol...

Will look cool regardless.

That would be a solid shot projectile. Funny what you pick up. I've got a 17 pdr case as well as a 20 pdr case that I found in the middle east. I think the Jordanians used the Centurion with the 20 pdr. The Israelis re-gunned theirs with the 105mm.

Looks like the right case for a 17 pdr. howitzer, but not the right case for an AT gun.

EDIT: never mind me, I’m all mixed up. Looks like you found the right thing.
