It is a sight for an Artillery piece, I think the 25 pounder (not sure can't find my notes). No great value, except for the fact the lens can be used to repair the No.32 Sniper rifle scope.

thanks JP

i dont know much about artillery im guessing a 25 pounder would be one of those big recoiling pieces you see them draging around behind jeeps in ww2 movies ?

It's actually a fairly standard scope used on quite a few of the artillery pieces. You'll see guys always trying to pass these, as well as the no22, and 52 scopes off as sniper scopes, which none of them are.
Some of the more enterprising guys are tearing them apart and selling the lense packs at an inflated price as repair parts for the no32 scopes.

The 25 pdr was a much heavier artillery piece than would be towed behind a jeep. It was actually more comparable to the current 105 howitzer, and was towed behind the Cdn military pattern artillery tractor.
