Noticed a nick on my X95 bolt carrier. This is 200 rounds in. No effect on function. Should I care or just cosmetic? It's quite small and the only reason I noticed was the scratched coating on the bolt itself. It doesn't look like it would get worse since the metal thickens up the farther it goes up the angle.

I had this happen in a brand spanking new x95 from just cycling the action. No rounds fired. Returned it and purchased another one.

Edit: No issues in the new one on the bolt. Have noticed some marks forming around the entrance to the barrel in the chamber however after a few hundred rounds.

Makes a guy wonder if there's an issue with the metallurgy...

Where did you buy it?

Got it a year ago from Nova Tactical in Nova Scotia. I'm probably going to contact North Sylva and see what they say about it. Kind of disappointing on a new expensive gun.

I can't tell what is causing it since nothing contacts this area when cycling. No brass marks, the bolt catch engages the bolt face only, and there is probably 5mm clearance between this area and the chamber/feed ramp.
