X95 headspacing question

Finally got a hold of a lefty bolt for my X95, planning on buying/renting/borrowing some go/nogo gauges to double check headspace after the swap. Probably a stupid question, but I'm assuming the chamber is cut for 5.56 (despite markings) and 5.56 gauges would be ideal over 223 gauges for checking? Seen mixed things regarding whether or not it'll matter.

There is no need to check headspace for modern big manufacturer guns with factory parts, like IWI.

If you have a small shop gun of their own design, yes, I will check for sure.

But to answer your question, the x95 is 5.56 (NATO) chambered. It's only marketed as being 223.
