Here's my question: Does anyone have a difficult time inserting a loaded magazine in an X95 on a closed bolt?

I just finished filming an episode for a television show and I had 3 X95's. All of them had the same issue. Nearly impossible to seat a full magazine (any mag; LAR, Colt, ASC, Magpul gen3), on a closed bolt. I'd literally have to take a hammer to it to get a mag to seat. Take 1 round out (so 4 in a 5/30 or 9 in a 10/30) and no problem.

Anyone else?

Yes, I had this problem with my TAR21 as well. It's a little easier with my X95, my Lancer L5 Mags will go in if you give them a smack but everything else needs you to insert on an open bolt.

It's probably not a problem with standard capacity mags but that 5-round pin just doesn't give enough. I have similar problems with all the guns I've owned but the Tavors definitely had it the worst.

I had the same problem with lots of my mags on X95.No problem on AR15.

When you or the magazines get use to the rifle, it should be fine. The first few times it does have this kind of issue, but not any more.

Thanks all for the info. I've never had an AR have a problem inserting a loaded mag on a closed bolt but the AR15 is a stellar design. I'm honestly disappointed in this issue with the X95. I guess if we had normal mags and we loaded them to 28 it wouldn't be an issue, I guess. I'll just keep working it and live with it.

Thanks again guys.
