X95 optics height

Between the low factory rail and the chunky profile, I'm having hard time finding an optics setup that I'm comfortable with.

I'm not a fan of having to shoot with my head inclined and my cheek so heavily mashed down on the stock, which is the case even with the flip up irons or Israeli optics.

I got to try a NVG height mount with an Aimpoint, and that seemed to work, but I'd prefer to run something other than a red dot.

What are my options as far as risers and high mounts for other types of optics?

the EXPS series co witnesses the irons which illustrates the low rail hight. There are riders you can get that allow both exps and g33 to be mounted about half an inch higher. The x95 already has a pretty high HOB so whatever you add will extend that so be aware of that

The difference between top of rail on AR and top of stock is just under 0.5", but both are almost level in X95.

Your solution is to add an ARMS swan sleeve that is about 0.5", or use a 1.93 ( instead of the typical 1.5) scope mount.

The punch line is you need to add 0.5" to the rail height, and you will be able to use typical AR mounts to get to the typical AR cheek position.

A .5" inch riser or 1.93" scope mount would work, but I wonder if a 2.33" mount might be better considering how fat the comb of the X95's buttstock is even compared to the AR-15.

Of course, such a high mount is bound to be awkward with anything other than a red dot, unless maybe you can get a fairly lightweight optic like a TA44 mounted at that height?

I use a X95 specific rail riser kit on mine, it replaces the OEM IWI rail with one that has .5" of rise built into it, making the optic height similar to an AR-15

I had one from Midwest Industries, now I currently have one from Manticore Arms

ACOG and ARMS sleeve are what I use. Work very well. The step down is the perfect slot for the LAD or pressure switch to get you fingers or device off the sight picture.

Because of the height difference between the bore and the optic is about 4", the close range hold over is much larger but the apparent bullet drop becomes smaller (flatter) beyond 100m. At 300m, it has like 1.5 MOA less apparent drop than M4, so the ACOG BDC will be off a bit. if you run a 2.33 mount, the effect is probably even more amplified. You may need to toy with the ballistic calculator even more to figure out your optimal zeroing range.
