I can't get my bolt back into Browning X-bolt rifle. The handle is in the closed position and the lugs on the bolt must be also. The bolt has to be canted 60* in order for lugs to line up, and then it can't be spun to proper orientation. I've tried pressing and tapping on the tiny button on top of the bolt but it doesn't seem to function

So the bolt goes in but will not close? Safety on or off? The safety position shouldn't matter with the xb but I haven't handled any xb2 other than at the gun counters.

It sounds like the rear shroud has turned. Is the firing pin protruding from the bolt face? If it is you will have to rotate the c ocking piece so the firing tip withdraws and the shroud locks in the correct orientation. A knowledgeable person at a gun shop may be able to help you.
