Hey guys I have robarms recommended 300 rounds plus through my XCR. So she should be "broken in" They say to reduce the gas settings down after that. Is there any problems leaving it on the higher #4 setting instead of putting it on the lower #2 setting?

Probably affect the longevity of the gas system (corrosion and metal fatigue from increased pressures and temperatures).

I keep mine on 4. I found it just plain works on 4, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I had a couple stoppages on #2 when using regular .223 (not 5.56 pressure) ammo

Not having an XCR but knowing how MG and other Rifle gas systems work, I would say that leaving a rifle on a higher gas setting (more gas) will simply cause faster wear on your moving parts (i.e. Gas piston, bolt, springs) in the action as the system will slam the parts around more.
