First off sorry because Im sure this has been covered before but I need a rather quick answer to see wether Im going to be making a deal on a XCR locally today.

The particular XCR I am looking at has a gas system that needs a wrench to be adjusted where as the ones I have have seen in the stores have a numbered knob. It also has a skelton style stock. I assume this just means its an older model. Is this a rifle thats still going to be a good purchase or should I be looking for the newer modle. Thanks

nothing wrong with the older model, you can order parts from Wolverine Supplies to update it to the newer model, with that in mind you should be able to use that to negotiate a great price for it.

Thanks, Im thinking the price is pretty fair. Friend of friend that just wants to get some cash flow for something else. Its also the tan or FDE model and I believe for some reason those are worth more, sorry not worth more but retail for more. I can pic it up for 2g with 6 lar15 mags and a cheapo BSA optic that will come off right away.

Ok good thanks this is the info I need. First time buyer of anything north of the $1500 mark. Not that our own EE helps much but I seem to see most between $2000 and $2300. Round count on this particular rifle is around 400 and it just had a once over or tune up( not to sure what that implies) at Wanstalls. In your opinion without seeing overal condition of course should I be offering less or saving the few extra hundred and get the newer model? Thanks

The original trigger is a bit of a dog. The new stock is $200+ to upgrade to.

I paid $2400 for a new gen XCR-l with a 5.56 and 7.62 kit. 2 pistol mags per calibre and two 5 round mags 1 in each calibre.

That was off the CGN marketplace. Deals come up you have to wait and jump on them.

Im on wolverines sight right now looking at the 7.62 conversion, I have so many rounds of both .223 and 7.62 it only makes sense. Quick run to Dlask on Monday to grab one of there xcr m4 stock adapters and the build starts. Just trying to figure out what Im going to run for an optic now. I have a Elite 10x40 Tac not sitting on anything right now to use for tomorrow but I dont think I want to dedicate that scope to this rifle, maybe another Millet DMS 1-4x in a Burris P.E.P.R mount

Upgrades...

The older XCR can be upgraded.....

- a gas block kit will give you a knob type gas adjustment rather than a wrench.
- trigger kit will give improved performance of the trigger.
- ambidextrous safety kit for lefties available.

- change of caliber kits available.

as far as the stock goes......
just get an NEA stock adapter (Version 2) and you can put any stock for an AR on the XCR. You have lots of options.

Go for it :)

Cheers!

B

The one I picked up already has the ambi safety, Im going to grab the Dlask stock adapter as there only a 20 minute drive from me and in stock. Not too sure now if Im going to bother with the gas system knob adjuster, seems simple enough to do with a wrench. thanks for all the info guys.

My friend has one of these and he told me that if you don't use locktite that it falls apart while shooting. Is this true?
Cause I laughed at him and told him that I had to use this on my gun it would not be in my locker.

$2400 plus taxes and shipping so more like $2700. keeping the price I got it for to myself but will say that I got it well under the original asking price and it ended up coming with 12 10 round mags with couplers.

you know Im not really digging those FAST stocks, might be different to actual shoulder and probably are quite comfortable.

i have a few milspec buffers and a couple of Magpul CTR stocks laying around from past builds so all I really need is the adapter. Dlask has one for $59.99.

thanks tho man, always appreciate all members thoughts
