Hi, I got 5 groups (5 shots each) in a row of 1cm by 1cm at 50m indoor using PMC M193 ammo last week and was wondering what should be expected at longer ranges.

My only luck has been a couple of 3cm-4cm 5 shot groups at 100m with Federal 69gr Gold Match ammo.

The best group I got with 69gr sierra match king bullets was 5 shots 1 1/4" group at 100m. RA says the gun can do 1 moa, but I generally feel it's a 1.5-2 moa gun.

Mine averages anywhere from 1.2"-1.4" at 100yards shooting 55gr PMC. That's shooting 5rd strings, and with magnified optics and a front rest. I haven't bothered trying out handloads with it. Never had a coyote crawl away yet.

I'm finding that as you put rounds through it, I notice it get better and better.

Last chance I got to do an accurate test (by that I mean -30 but with no wind..... off the hood of a truck....) this is what I got.

Not that my buddy hung the target upside down. So it's actually a 1.5 inch group 2 inches high, which is what I sight in for. That allows for a 1 foot holdover at 300, which is as far as I would shoot a deer with 6.8 anyway. And that's the planned us for it. I went 10 for 10 with 4 liter milk jugs at 300, so she shoots well.

What I use is good ol, remington match factory loads in 115 grn. I will use the 115 grain bonded remington load for hunting after a recheck for groupings.

Overall, I really like this gun. I find it's real appeal is the 6.8 SPC ability.

Creamy.

Go for 100 yd (or meter) groups. A lot can change in that short 50y/m distance.

XCR is vertical spread champ! (when gas block is loose)

Hi, in november I got multiple 1 inch wide by 2 inch high groups using Swiss ammo and only figured out that my gas block needed some tightening after I got multiple failure to feed and the vertical spread kept on getting larger !

The vertical spreading spotted right there but the I had run out of good ammo (Swiss and Federal Gold Cup ammo) and used 63 gr American Eagle which average 2-2.5 by 2-2.5. Interestingly, the the Gold Cup ammo (69gr SMK) was not as much affected by vertical spreading !

All the testing was done with a 6-24x50mm scope and a bipod. It's with this setup that I got indoor 50m 1cm by 1cm groups with multiple bullets cloverleafing. I'll bring my digicam to take pics next time.

I get excellent accuracy with my 6.8spc as well but I load the Barnes 95gr TTSx that are designd to open up down to 1600fps my loads = 2825fps with this velocity these bullets are supposed to reliably expand out to 450 yards even with these bullets I also limit myself to 300 yards on deer.

I'm curious what 115gr bullet would you be shooting at a deer with @ 300 yards because none of the bullets I am aware of are designed to expand at the velocities you are getting from an XCR at that distance?

My plinking/practice loads are 115gr Sierra Prohunters @ 2650fps these bullets are designed for 270 Win velocities and do not expand at slower velocities in soft tissue I limited my shots to 125 yards when I first started hunting with these bullets.

I'd suggest going to either the 95gr TTSX or 100gr/110gr Accubonds these are accurate bullets that will do the job reliably for you out to 300 yards...
