Howdy!
I'm looking for some info on the barrel conversion kits. Haven't really been able to find any pricing or other info on 5.56x45 to 7.62x39 kits or vice versa. I'm looking at buying an xcr-l and am just trying to find the most economical way of doing that.
Not sure if there's a price difference between the 2.
Thanks

I just got an xcr l in 7.62x39 last year. The price of the guns were the same in the same. In the same config. A buddy of mine called Wolverine and there should be barrel's and bolts for around 700 bones. Anyway i hope to get a 5.56 setup for when commie ammo dries up

The "commie" ammo won't dry up anytime soon. The cheap corrosive eastern block stuff maybe ( I hate the stinky, dirty, inaccurate s&b 70's crap).

Norinco new production shoots very well in my x39 XCR. The last Canada Ammo deal of non corrosive Norinco 7.62x39 shoots 2-3" at 100m consistently. Great deal @ $369. a case of 1200.

That may be true but it would like the option for when it came to that. I have found in life (and rebuilding my classic jeep) that if you don't get the parts when you see them , by the time you need them they have stopped making them. I also see it as two rifles in one. I have committed that much money so far into this project so what's a little more to have the choice of the ammo to shoot. Besides for the price of two cases of ammo you get a whole other caliber.

You haven't looked very hard then! Wolverine Supplies is the supplier of all RA stuff for us in Canada. Search their site for "XCR barrel" and "XCR bolt" and you will see all the prices. It's debatable whether you actually need to change the brass deflector...or just get the new "Omni" brass deflector which is designed to work with all calibre.

All "L" barrel appear to be $645 and the bolts are around $145 plus a few more $ for a brass deflector.

Wolverine Supplies hasn't been stocking barrels so much, or they sell out quick. Either way, I would suggest placing an order to make sure you get one. They use to sell kits, but now it's all in parts, so order the barrel and bolt you need at the same time or you could be waiting a while.

I was under the assumption they came as a kit from what I've seen in some YouTube videos. But yes I see them now on wolverine supplies. Thanks for your help guys

Yeah, it can be a little confusing, especially for older guns that use different generation lower receivers, bolt carriers and bolts. There is a good faq pages on this on robinson armaments site, and Grumpy Wolverine of Wolverine Supplies did a good overview video on this as well.
