XCR-L + Ergo grip~should there be any play?

Hey guys, installed an ERGO on my XCR-L (love the look/feel) but early on shooting it...noticed a bit of play. Very insignificant, but there. Got home, torqued it right down. Next shooting session...same thing. Each time, I could turn the screw about 1/4 turn. So, I've just re-done it with semi-permanent Loctite but it got me wondering how common this is...and if anyone ever shims an AR-style grip? Like it SO much more than the factory grip, but never did use that one either.

I've yet to shoot it since the Loctite application.

It depends on the grip and receiver, I’ve had grips that are fairly tight with out the screw even in and others that are fairly loose. I had one where the screw kept backing out when I was firing it (or even just handling it) as it was a loose fit to the receiver, also I think the lock washer was in the wrong way. Anyways, I put a little blue loctite on it and haven’t had a problem since.
