XCR-L 223, 2-4000 rnds down the pipe, first time reloading for it. Found 2 sub MOA loads at 100m, 0.954", 5 shots, with Barnes 50 grn VG's over BLC-2. Rem UMC brass, once fired, full sized, primer pocket uniformed, flash hole debured. CCI 400 primer. Conditions were -4c wind from the 6-4 at 10-20kmph.

The best I could get with varget 1.3", doesn't meter near as nice as BLC-2 anyway.

62 grn Bergers and 26.5 grn varget 1.17

And the "Mexican Match" 55 grn FMJBT 10 shot group. All pulled from American eagle-federal, swapped with Hornady 50grn SPSX, and 50grn Barnes VG's with some factory Rem UMC 45 grn thrown in.

Bergers and V-max over BLC-2 still to come.:ar15:

Here is the best I could do with 62grn Match Vmt Bergers , 0.78", Once fired NT Win Brass. 2nd pic dbl check of the other days best, Barnes VG's, 27 grns of BLC-2, 0.88", the bad brass was caused by my brass catcher not allowing the case to eject, damaging a rnd tring to feed. Other than that not a single issue for the reloads. Just waiting on the Gopher swarm.:dancingbanana:
When supplies get here I'll see how it shoots 10-20rnd groups. Might even try to partial/neck size and see what happens. All rnds were loaded into the mag and fired with no cool time. 5 minute wait between groups.

awesome, thanks for taking the time to post this!
have you tried any or barnes varmint grenades?

i've had very good results with:
26.5 gr of varget, federal 205 primers, once fired, f/l resized win brass

a lot of people say they will not stabilize properly with the 1:9 barrel, but so far I've had nothing but good.

Yes, that first and last groups are Barnes V grenades-50 grn. They were given to me by friend of mine, he couldn't get them to group in his Tikka. Haven't had any luck at all with Varget. Haven't shot any Boat tails either, other than the fed AE fmj.
waiting on 8lbs of Blc-2, 2000 CCI 400 primers, 2000 Hornady SPFB from Budget Shooter supply, hopefully here today

I tried Barnes VG`s in a 222 rem. didn`t get consistent results on gophers. Same thing in a 204, gave the 50 gr. 22 cal. bullets to a friend to try in a 223 rem. no comments from him yet.

Wolverine sells 1:9 and 1:7 conversion kits in .223. I'd be curious to hear from people who have both/either to see if either rate is a better perfomer for the XCR.
