XCR-L safety switch

I know it's probably covered somewhere but I can't find it. I'm trying to remove the safety switch from my XCR, so I unscrewed the right side and pulled the right side out, but I can't get the rest of the switch out from the left....any help would be great...thanks

did you remove the pistol grip? there is a spring in the grip that puts pressure on the safety switch...
