Hey guys, I'm working on a red rifle (SKS), getting her to take the XCR 7.62x39mm pistol mag (the receiver will take the mag and the bolt will cycle the rds). Currently working on making a mag catch for it. I wanna make sure that the mag catch works the way its supposed to and actually catches the mag lol That's why I'd appreciate some info from XCR owners.

1) Does the mag release pull straight back or does it also rotate?

2) The rectangular piece that goes into the hole in the mag, is it smooth or does it have a groove along the top?

3) Are the edges on it sharp or rounded?

Thanks in advance for the info!

Keep in mind that you can't modify the magazine in anyway to fit another gun.

Thanks for the warning. I'm well aware of that one and all the mods are gonna be to the receiver and the bolt (well, the bolt is done), and nothing to the mag. It may look like it went to hell and back from all the test fits, but other than the scuffs, it's exactly the same as a brand spankin new mag  Would have been nice to have had the option of making a few tweaks to the mag or even better, being able to use decent capacity mags in the first place, but our laws don't make sense and I don't wanna break'em.
