XCR questions (gas system and general question)

Looking to buy an XCR for some varmint hunting and was curious as to the benefits of the long vs short gas system (the heavy bbl would obviously be a benefit but was curious as to the gas system in relation to the barrel). Is one easier to clean or is there another benefit such as the ability to short certain kinds of ammo ?

Also, what type of XCR did you / will you go with and why ?

the XCR is out, finally. I heard some guys at POCO talking, one of them had bought one new recently. Can't wait to see one on the range.

I imagine the long piston would be softer shooting (not that you'd really notice in .223) and possibly more reliable.

The short gas system would be more condusive to hacking off the barrel with a chop saw..
