XCR range report

Went to the range on Saturday with my new XCR in .223.
Was a fairly nice day, no wind and about 14 degrees. Using a Hi Lux CMR 1x4x24 scope I managed a slow 3 shot group of 1" at 100m and at a faster rate of fire pulled off a 5 shot group at 2.5". This was all with American Eagle 55 grain FMJ.
All in all I'm very pleased with this rifle, no malfunctions of any kind and have cycled 300 rounds so far, all with Pmags.

1" at what distance? 100m would be very good. 1m not so :D
 
old thread...but yeah...loctite. my bolt release paddle was almost off tonight when I was going to lock it open for a bore snake. Also, screw under my adjustable gas setting was almost falling off last year. I would highly recommend loctite.

2500 rnds in , no loctite and mine is gtg. Just check the bolts periodically. The early XCR owners will no doubt be still clamoring off about their QC issues throughout the thread, the mere mention of XCR round here brings back bad memories for them. I dont knock them for being dissapointed with the early models, but they are going off information they had years back , and things seem to have vastly improved since. Any current owners do not seem to be complaining. Just pressing the buttons you know. tehehe.

I certainly don't want to hi-jack this thread or be a #### disturber. I'm just being honest.

If the new ones work I might be tempted to pick one up, especially with their non-restricted status.

Like I said, my XCR was very accurate. It just wouldn't work.

I have an XCR and think that most reliability problems are due to the fact that the rifle has never been adopted by a millitary force or put into large scale production.
Remember that less than 10,000 XCR has been produced and that any design goes through a maturing process much like a teenager!

I bought my rifle more than 1 year ago and the only problems that I had with it are failure to eject (FTE) caused by loose gas block and lack of cleaning on my part (I shot 700 rounds without cleaning the rifle, only cleaned the bore every 50 shots).

First, I am not posting this to make any comments about the XCR, I have never actually seen one, let alone handled or shot one.

Second, I don't really care what type of guns you have, as long as, as many people as possible have guns, it is all good.

But, these comments,
