I'm quite impressed with my XCR in 7.62X39, but as I shoot 99% of the time on a range, I would love to have the benefits of a shorter barrel.
Anyone with a lead on someone able to produce such a beast?
I would have no issue with having to sacrifice my stock barrel as an 'organ donor' for the gas system, etc.

The other thing to think of is that if go ahead with this it could result in reclassifying all the XCR's as restricted

This wouldn't be the first short barreled XCR in Canada, and it hasn't been restricted yet.

Foxbat; Try ATRS or Nietarms, I'm pretty sure I've seen ATRS doing caliber conversions and barrel switches, and I know Neitarms have a shorty XCR or two.

Don't forget to post pics after the work is complete. :D

Are we talking shorter than 18.5"?

I thought putting a barrel shorter than 18.5" (even if it was factory made) onto a non-restricted semi-automatic centerfire firearm turned it into a prohib
It does only if you have your factory barrel shortened past 18.5 inches and seeing as nobody is making barrel extensions for the XCR in Canada it means that you would have to remove the orginal barrel and install a Factory / Manufactured barrel that is shorter than 18.5 inches to be legal
