XD .40 for Production?

Sure, you can use it for production. Your ammo will just only score minor, whether it power factors over 170 or not.

You might want so see if you can source some lower power 40 to keep yourself a little more competitive with the guys shooting 9 that are running around a 130 Power factor, though.

No problem. I used one for Production for a while. It's not the best choice though because the gun is light and .40 is big for production.

The problem you will have with a new XD, is that the factory springs are not the best for trying to get a minor load.. You can get close (145's..), but if you get too low then it does not feed properly. you need to get a weaker spring (wear one in a lot to get it to handle a proper minor load..

Thanks for the responds. I was thinking of getting a shadow but I'm already geared up for xd.40. I just don't see myself spending another 1K if my goal is to shoot in Standard someday.
