XD-45 as a first pistol?

I'm also thinking about that new Taurus .45, but I keep reading crap about Taurus not being a good buy north of the border, due to parts scarcity.

Say hello to the newest Taurus International / Rossi distributor for Canada...

Any word on how Taurus will handle service and warranty work? Parts?

...I'm well aware of this issue with repair and parts. After meeting with Taurus, I think they are concerned about this, and have always been. We backup our existing product lines 100% and wouldn't do business with those manufacturers if they didn't agree. Taurus will join that list. I'm not saying I can fix many existing problems, I'm just saying when we get going, it will be taken care of...

I bought an Xd-45 as my first pistol ad regret it to this day. The gun was a jamamatic and would not fire any reloads, even fresh winchester would jam. Ended up selling it for dirt cheap to Epps. I would go with the 9mm or better yet for that price range stick with a Glock, M&P, CZ, Norinco Sig copy, used Sig, Beretta/ used Taurus, all much more reliable guns i've had.

Anyone know when the XD-M is supposed to be available in Canada? Also, are the high capacity mags the only thing keeping it from being here now? Thanks for any help.
