I just ordered a XD40 in OD Green (I really wanted the XD9 in OD Green but I was told there would be a long wait) and I remembered reading somewhere that you can convert a XD40 to 9mm. I did a search here and found one fellow who did but I wondered if anyone else has recently. If so what was involved and what did it cost approx? I'm really looking forward to getting the 40 as I dabble a bit in IPSC and people here seem top be really happy with them. TC

P & D has a very nice but slightly used XD-9 in the used display case. The pistol comes with 2 mogs and a case. I seem to think the price was $595.00.

I have one in .40 S&W and toyed with the idea of a conversion. I had heard the conversions can take some tweeking to get working right, and you may or may not have to #### with mags, etc. After all was said and done, I just bought a slightly used one in 9mm for a very reasonable price. That is your best bet imho.

XD conversion

I have bought a 9mm ported barrel from EFK Dragon for around US$180 (about $US150 for non-ported) for my XD-40. It required a bit of sanding but he walked me thru it and I fitted it without problems. Some barrels will just drop in. I haven't shot it a lot but I have no serious problems with using the 40 mags for 9mm. Minor tweaking to some of the mags (they are not identical) might just make it flawless.
