Just received an email back from Ruger . I contacted them a few days ago in regards to their XGI rifle that never made it to the market about 20 , maybe 25 years ago . They did build a few prototypes . Basically a very slightly bigger Mini-14 chambered in .308 but looking a little more like an M-14 although slightly smaller . I suggested a good trigger and something like the Ruger Scout barrel . They said that it's being discussed . I told them that the world needs a battle/hunting rifle in .308 and the MIA's/M-14's out there now are too big , too expensive and suffer from quality control . I pointed out the rack grade Springfield Armoury , over priced and low quality . Anyway , who knows but maybe well see an XGI sometime in the future .
