Hello does anyone have experience with the xmetal and their 147gr bullets in their 38/357? I'm relatively new to reloading but looking at the xmetal site it appears their 38 147gr is just the same bullet at the 9mm 147gr bullet.

From what little I know the 9mm is .356 and .38/.357 should be .357. So my concern is would this be horribly inaccurate because it's not the right size, cause excessive leading and general have poor performance? I mostly have been using CamPro but I was thinking of getting in CAS which doesn't allow jacketed bullets. Hence why I'm looking at non-jacketed rounds.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Both probably come out of the same mould and are then sized afterwards to the correct diameter for either 9mm or .38.

where does most people get the DRG bullets? Also Dogzilla do you have any experience with DRG, do you find you get a lot of leading or extra cleaning over jacketed ?

I'm sure there is some but I understand DRG has a hardness of 25.

A lot of gun stores carry them(Hummason's and Lawry's and Epp's), but if you are on the cowboy circuit you can pick them up when you shoot at Guelph, or usually get someone to pick them up for you. Once you get into cowboy, everyone knows each other. I don't know if he ships to individuals. Cowboy loads are generally light target loads since you are shooting at metal plates @ 10yds or less, so velocities are low enough that leading isn't an issue, just clean your gun as per usual. Lead bullets however will never be as clean as jacketed.
