XS front sight ramp anyone?

I got a set of XS sights from TSE for my 870 but for some reason they don't come with a front sight ramp and they aren't of any use without one.

Has anyone see one in there travels?

TSE was good enough to offer taking them back but I'd like to keep them if I can find a ramp.

Sounds like you got the ones which install in the Remington factory front ramp. The good news is that the ramp is cheap but the bad news is that a 'smith will have to solder it on and problably need to refinish the barrel.

XS does sell a version with a banded front sight for those without the front sight base.

So it's a Rem part I need not a XS. On there site it talks about epoxying over the bead which made me think I didn't need the banded one.

What is on your barrel for a front sight? Just a small bead as opposed to the bead on small ramp?

Ok, wait a second. Exactly which XS sight did you get? They do make a big dot that epoxies directly over top the factory bead but it's meant to be used on its own. I was thinking that you had a set of ghost rings for some reason.

It's the ghost rings that I got.

The bead is sitting on a little ramp (870 tactical) but the front sight that it came with is meant to be pushed into a groove.

Ok, things are clear now. You have the Remington bead sight that sits on a pedestal. In order to install your ghost rings you'll need someone to solder on the front ramp or exchange them for the banded front sight that clamps on around the barrel.

When they talk about epoxy on the web site its for their big dot that goes over the bead sight, but no rear sight is used.
