Guess that's why the Glock has so much favour then... no cocked & locked feature... if a round is chambered you are ready to go... no manual safety to mess with and take up precious milli-seconds... ;)

Same goes for S&W M&P's...

Actually, before Jeff Cooper started singing the praises of only carrying a 1911 cocked & locked, it was standard practice for many 1911 users to carry their pistol chamber loaded and hammer down. To fire, the hammer was manually cocked. This was one of the reasons why Detonics 1911s manufactured in the mid/late 1970s were "dished" toward the rear of the slide and the rear sight moved forward a little. The dished or scalloped rear part of the slide made it faster/easier to thumb #### the pistol.

The half-#### notch is there to catch the hammer in the event that the full-#### notch breaks -- it's simply a safety device to prevent a broken sear from firing the gun.

I don't get the bobbed hammer on the first gun when it has a full beaver tail safety. What's the point? If it was a LDA sure but still a full beaver wouldn't be required or wanted. Para at least got that right.

I don't think mine looks ugly :D
What calibre is that 4string? How many rounds? That's what I like in a compact is a shorter grip. Oh, and how long exactly is the barrel?

i find it interesting how people dont want to carry a 1911 cocked and locked, but will carry a gun with no manule safty so easy.
not pointing fingers, it just strikes me as odd.
x 2. It's plenty safe to carry cocked and locked. And safety don't slow me down... I'm slow to start... lol.
