I have an option to buy a whole whack of Glock 17 mags from the states for real cheap. What I'm wondering is, since they're not limited to the 10 rounds Canada requires, what will I have to do to get them to comply? will I even be able to bring them across the border?
 
They will need to be "pinned" using a rivet through one of the witness holes along the back of the mag, such that the capacity is limited to 10 rounds. This is the easiest way to restrict their capacity that I know of.
 
Well, when I tried to order some 10-round Wilson Combat mags for my .45 through Brownells, it was a no-go -- not because of Canadian restrictions, but because of AMERICAN ones. The new federal restrictions on their side of the border make 10-round magazines "high capacity" and cannot be legally exported from the United States period.
