Yeah, another first time hunter question

Well, not really a question, but a request for advice. I obtained my hunting license last year. While I've been an avid shooter for at least 30 years, I've never taken the plunge into hunting. I panicked just before the antlerless deadline and picked WMU60 in Ontario (appears that there is no a, b or whatever, just WMU60 onthe map).

So, I think that for next year I might be able to schmooze my way into a hunting party, but I'm out of luck for this year.

Any recommendations for this year? Any guided services available for this area? (WMU60)

Perhaps I will sit this year out

Not sure about the Ontario issue, but one advice from a new guy to another is to never plan, or rely upon another for your hunting trip, I have been let down 2 seasons in a row now, by folks that liked to talk, more then hunt.

Plan to go by yourself, and you will get there.

Welcome to the slayers club. Remember to use those years of shooting skills on the killing shot as well. You really want to send that bullet to the right place, once you find a suitable quarry, that is. Congrats and good hunting.

The area you selected is pretty populated and finding permission might be a tough one. But your buck tag is still good for anywhere in the province.

Pack your junk and head north to some crown land for a few days. Lots of deer to be had but will be more work than sitting on a field edge. The first week will be busy but by the second week of the season most of the "once a year hunters" are gone back south.

I really don't know where in 60. I panicked the last day of the draw and just picked 60 because it wasn't too far from me and seemed like on of the largerr WMU's. (Yeah, I know but, it seemed to make sense at the time)
