I just passed the PAL and RPAL today. 100/98 on the PAL (written/practical) and 98/98 on the RPAL. I found the exams to be a lot easier than the class itself but I sure did learn a lot in a day and a half.

Thanks for the replies. My first purchase will be a S&W .22 cal revolver and then something in a larger caliber - probably a .357/.38 Special. As for a range, I hope to join the Toronto Revolver Club for indoor shooting and probably Silverdale for outdoor. I also plan to get an AR. The Tavors are safe for now.

The course instructor said it would be about a month before I get the official results back from Orillia. I can then submit my application and it will be at least another couple of months after that before I get my license. I can then buy a gun but any restricted firearms will involve more waiting for an ATT. I'll try not to obsess about it.
