Yep, I made the jump. For the spring gun bug, the SL8 won over the FS2000. It's on the way and should get here early next week. But as we know, it won't stay un-moded... I'm planning on doing a G36 clone.

I read the Sticky and contacted CNADNSL8-5. I need help on how to get the mod parts (pm's would be appreciated).

Also, is the Dual sight/rail worth getting? I mean is it a good optic? (not talking about quality, but ergonomics and ease of use)

Thanks!

I had the AR mag conversion, sold it. I didnt like the fit or finish. I just got my hands on the conversion kit, changing my SL8-4 to a G36k as we speak. New barrel (G36k), stock (G36c), stock block (HDPS), FBI Lower, handguard (G36k), mags (5/30), etc. Cant wait till its done. Just need to find or make a barrel wrench. If you want a conversion kit, let me know. Their not cheap.... especially if you want a new barrel too.

Wolverine has the conversion kit for the ar mags ... I have one its so-so . Blaxsun is getting in the NZ made sl-8 made ( not by hk).

Have fun with it I love mine .

I love mine.

Don't bother with a new barrel, just get it threaded for a flash hider.

Definetely do the G-36 Conversion. Even if you have to buy it up piece by piece, it is worth it for the end result.

The dual optic is a tricky decision in my opinion. Depends what you are going for.

If you want an authentic build, then it is a must.

If you want to use it for target shooting/ long range precision only, it is pretty good up to 300 meters, but there are better dedicated optics out there. (I have experience with it at that distance, and the results were very pleasing with the factory barrel.)

If you want it for 3 gun or action matches for close in shooting, then it is alright, but again, there are better dedicated optics out there for the task.

If you want it for both long range and short range, the dual optic is very useful, as all it takes to go between a 3x scope and a red dot is moving your eye 1" either up or down.

Here is mine.

Red Dot. Crappy photo, you get it.

3x scope reticle. Crappy photo again. The reticle has hasmarks for 200 and 300 meters, and I find it superb. I had an excellent grouping at 300 meters using it measuring under 5" from a shoot at borden. The pic does not come close to doing it justice.
