Peter ay Hirsch shipped me one of the four NF 2.5-10x42 compact's with zerostop that just landed , this scope is going to be perfect for my Alaskan TI in 300wsm ! Happy New Year to me !

This is the exact model I ordered ... Its a C458. Not sure how many of the compacts with the 42mm bell and ADJ OBJ are in the country but I know its not many

Wow, you are going to enjoy that me thinks! Can't think of a better range than 2.5-10x, wish I could afford one of these...someday.

Need pics ! Please post them when you get it.

The scope should be here tomorrow , I will post pics. Im pretty sure there are only 4 of this model in the country right now, I don't think there could possibly be more than a dozen. I doubt ATRS has gotten any I really don't think Grouse River has either. This is the first shipment of them Hirsch has gotten and they only got 4. They were supposed to be here at the end of Oct but they just kept getting delayed. Super hard to get. There are other compacts but not with side parallax and 42mm objective.

I already have the 30mm tally's here so when I hopefully post pics tomorrow the scope will be mounted on my titanium 700

It has a ADJ OBJ? Do you mean the "power throw lever"?

It has both , power throw and side parallax , also illuminated with zero stop

Seems like a heavy scope to put on a lightweight rifle. I'm sure you'll like it though.

Its only 6 oz's heavier than the z3 that's on my 7-08 titanium ... That whole rig comes in at 6lbs 4oz's so I have my ultra light hiking rifle. My 300wsm will be just a little over 7lbs 4oz's with the night force on it. But when I rebarrel it to a #3 contour from the current #4 it should drop down to 7 lbs which is very reasonable for a rifle that should be deadly accurate system for the 600-800 yards I might take shots with.

The idea is to be leathal in side 600 with it. I have a G7 range finder already that ive been using wit My NXS 250 for two years that has been a fantastic LR kit , now im going to have a rifle doing virtually the same thing at 7 pounds as my LR kit with the reliability of NF that I have become so accustom too

Very excited !

And a half-pound heavier than the VX3 3.5-10x. I'm just not sure what sense it makes, that's all.

I don't want to get into it with Leupold fans on this thread ... its not what its about. I respect that guys like there leupold but ... from my experience they are not reliable ! I have not had good luck with that company I have personally had 4 Vx-3's fail on me ... one had a faulty turret out of the box and leupold would not give me a new one ... they wanted to fix it. This happened a week before a mule deer trip. So there I was stuck with a $750 scope that I had just bought and had to go away on warranty a week before my mule deer trip. I was in a spot where I had to buy a second scope for $880 " my current Z3 " NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL ! Also VX-3's are not repeatable enough for me when dialing game.

Just MO not looking for feed back on this comment I know lots of guys have had luck with Leupold and love them to death ... I don't trust them , they have put me in horrible spots

Like I said I have a Titanium 700 in 7-08 with a Swaro Z3 that is 6 1/4 pounds scoped , so I have a light weight LR rig that I trust and an ultra light weight mountain rifle if I need to drop another pound

For $180 more a Z3 is 2 ounces lighter than a VX-3 and is a far better scope ... BRH/ BRX is definitely a better reticle

With all the other options in leupolds price ranges I don't even think they are in the market any more.

Again id appreciate it if this thread dosnt get derailed , im looking forward to posting pics tomorrow if possible, The NF compact was sent priority so it really should be here tomorrow

You won't find a leupold this size with illumination that is not within 1 ounce of the nightforce. Apples to apples comparison would be fair. Plus the digillum illumination is contained in the parallax dial, and not obtrusive like the stupid battery on top of the leupold eye piece. Also, to be at the lighter weight leupold, you would not have windage and elevation dials, let alone dials as good as NF. The closest leupold has is the mark 4, which is 1.6" longer or less "compact". I would guess the leupold mark 4 and the NF would be very close to the same price.

Hunt's Hunting Supply, Gull Lake, Sask.

They've had them for awhile now. If Peter was out I'd check Hunt's.

Yep ... He literally just got them , ATRS and grouse river may have gotten them as well. I called Grouse river in the late summer and they practically laughed at me when I asked for one

Sounds like they are starting to trickle in

Sweet!!
That will be a beauty....I ordered my 2.5-10X32 just weeks before this one came out...I thought about switching my order for one of these but they were way out too.
Probably would have been this shipment.....tempting....
Looking forward to your impressions!

I have a 2.5x10 x 32 on a rem 700 ti, Macmillan edge stock, 7 rem mag shooting 140ttsx really well. You are going to love that scope, can't wait for the review.

Just thought id update ... due to a minor miss communication Donna sent my package regular post. No harm no foul ... holidays are crazy. I have a tracking number and the scope is scheduled for delivery on Wednesday the 8th ... Im putting off mailing my ti for rebarreling till Wednesday for a couple of quick picks of the scope mounted for the thread.
