Just a quick post to let everyone that my #### is still there. I took Hungry's knowledge and applied it to my Norc, and yep as I expected. tighter rifle =tighter groups. Using surplus ammo from milarm I got tight just over 1 inch groups at 100 through stock Norc sights. 3 second ping from just shimming the block and pinning. Going to shave my piston rod next and get a better oprod. When I get back I am going to glass the stock and scope her and get a bipod. Should be a good moose shooter when I'm done. hehehehe....... Can't sing Hungry's praises enough, thanks again PATRICIA!!

JayT:

Thanks for the range report. I'm super glad that you are tickled about your recently tightened M14 after the clinic. Now you can see what can happen with a tweaked M14, fabulous results.

Now about timing your oprod (consistent return to battery), wait until you have a spare M14 gas piston. Trust me, it never hurts to have a spare should you mess up and I've messed up enough times. My experience was helped by super cheap M14 parts readily available from the US and Kanadian gun shows, that happened lots UNTIL 2003 when the US Forces began OIF, then the M14 commonly nicnamed, "The Comeback Kid" was recalled back into the US Ground units after being shelved by the US Army over 20 years ago.

Jay, I'm super glad that you are happy, now go and spread the good news, network with your Edmonton buddies and tweak to your heart's content.

Cheers,
Barney
