Some friends and I were in the bush today, and my main goal was to sight in the Pentax Gameseeker on my 99M in .243. The first few shots were high on the page but easily corrected, so I adjusted the windage and elevation accordingly. After a few attempts to get the holes closer to the center hole, I noticed that the crosshairs had moved about 20 degrees off the centerline. Needless to say, I was a bit bummed, but it gave me an excuse to pop the bases off and use tbe irons. I wouldn't have thought that a .243 had enough recoil to break anything?

The Game seekers are pure garbage! Had one tilt it's reticle over 15 degrees on the very first range trip on a .308. I should have known what looks too good to be true...........Worst part is Pentax Canada doesn't service scopes.

I got it in a three for one deal, came with a pair of decent Bushnells so I can't complain a whole lot. I liked the idea of a low power scope on my lever action, and a higher power on my pump so I'll keep an eye out for a good deal on a vortex 1.5-6. I had heard from some guys that spoke highly of the pentax, but maybe on something like a .204 it would have been okay. Either way, .243 made a mess of it.

I have a vortex crossfire in 1-4 that has rode a .30-06 for 300 plus rounds..... cost me 200 bucks and still going strong.... you wont be dissapointed by a vortex.... .243 shouldnt shake anything loose.....

I don't think I'll ever buy another scope under about the $250 range. I've had enough of the cheapos, but $1000 + optics are currently beyond my means. Been having a pretty good experience with several Bushnell Elites, I think I might be trying Vortex next now that I own an excellent pair of their binoculars. The starter level Zeiss has been catching my eye too, and the glass looks excellent (at least in store).

The 1-4 in a crossfire ran me 200 plus tax..... it sits on my backup deer rifle... for you rmain rigs (or if you can afford them for all of you rigs) th ediamonback is the way to go for sure....
