...Yeah I know Im getting pretty tired of them as well!
Anyways thought I would share this one. Pretty sure its a light refurb. Mag has the ugly weld. Stock seems unsanded with just a thin layer of shellac applied, just want to see what the CGN community thinks.
I havent taken the bolt out yet but its in the white. Metal shows some blueing loss here and there, also pretty cool can see the witness marks on rear sight ramp at 100m and 200m.

There are a few of these light refurbished 1949s in Canada. They all seem to be the same, stock was reshallacked at some point and possibly the metal was reblued but otherwise they're original. I've had a few offered to me but I can't get over the pinning method.

I am ok with the welded method, I will take one!! :):)

Just got another one of these rifles. Looks all correct, but the number '4' on serial number on the cover, mag, trigger '4' looks a bit off to me compared to the receiver and bolt. Not only the font but the size of it.

Just looks like a case of different characters struck at different angles with unequal pressure. One of the fours is considerably lower as well which would give that illusion.

Looks original matching to me. Another light refurb.

Yeah Im beginning to think you are correct bp2626. It funny how the fonts seem to change when I look at the rifle vs the pictures.

The best thing to do is take photos of all the serial numbers and crop them into a single image, really easy to compare the fonts when they're all in one view.

Yes, and if you have something like "powerpoint" you can even stretch and rotate numbers to accommodate photographing curved surfaces, sloppy stamping, etc. Those 2's sure all look the same to me.
