Yet ANOTHER Enfield Marking Question Thread *Sigh*

You guys are probably getting tired of this but you've been a great resource as I've not been able to find much information elsewhere, regarding certain markings.

I have an Enfield butttsock with a marking on the back... I'm having some trouble distinguishing it... so I'll type out what it COULD be...

IILL

HLL

or possably

77H

The stamp includes an arrow, pointing Down beneath the top 2, and up, above the last one.

EDIT. I'm pretty sure it says either HLL or 77H.

Also, the number 4, is stamped just before the hand-hold.

If anyone knows anything, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

Even with the best description ever, a picture is very helpful to get more information. Markings can be fake or place at an odd place. It always better with a picture. Not because we like to see images but simply because it gives a better chance to correctly identify markings.
